Home staging is important when trying to sell your home for many reasons.
Staging a home isn’t only about adding new décor pieces; it’s about transforming the space with fresh eyes so that it’s brighter, more organized, and enhanced from an aesthetic perspective. Unlike a home owner, a home stager is not emotionally connected to a space, and can therefore clearly see (with 2020 vision!) what needs to be done to make it attractive to the most prospective buyers possible.
Reorganizing and intentionally using space is a major benefit of home staging. Sometimes it can be difficult to see the potential in your own home because you’re so used to the particular roles you’ve assigned to the various rooms and spaces. However, we can unlock the hidden potential you didn’t even know was there and make the most of the space you’ve got with some creative reimagining.
We know from our experience that it’s really important to strike a balance between decorative flair and a neutral palette that isn’t too gender specific. You don’t want the space to be too plain; conversely, you don’t want it to be so infused with personality that other people can’t imagine themselves living there. We like to play up and increase the light in a space, and we tend towards neutral décor pieces and colour schemes.
Kitchens and bathrooms can also be improved by home staging without the need for expensive reno projects, and we think it’s really important not to neglect these areas! Of course, new appliances and fixtures can make a big difference, but staging can help a kitchen look brighter and more spacious, and can transform a bathroom into a relaxing, spa-like oasis. Changing light fixtures, welcoming in the light, de-cluttering and re-arranging furniture and/or introducing new furniture that suits the space better, as well as using subtle décor pieces can really go a long way.
We’ve got lots of exciting projects coming up, and we can’t wait to share them with you! In the meantime, please feel free to send us a message and let us show you how we can Design to Sell!
